Creative writing is an art.
In order to paint an effective picture, you need to know the different aspects of the picture you are trying to create.
If you were asked to draw a picture of a house, you would know that you would need to include: floors, walls, a roof, and a door. These parts are essential to its structure to identify that you have, in fact, created a house. The same is true of a narrative intervention. There are key structural components to writing a narrative that effectively and successfully intervenes in the narrative that you have been asked to respond to. And, just as a house has the ability to be ‘just’ a house IF you add features like a rock wall, landscaping and flowers, these simple additions, turn an ordinary house into a potential piece of art that makes it stand out and pop! So, too, can your writing be something that has flair and evokes feelings and images within the reader IF you know how to enhance and embellish your writing.
